The moon was still young and set quite early, the forecast was for a cloudless sky and the temperatures were summery. I had already booked my accommodation at the Schliffkopf for this weekend. It's not far from there to the Hornisgrinde. However, the light pollution from the valley is considerable, so I opted for the perspective at the wind turbine, pointing the camera relatively steeply upwards to avoid the areas close to the horizon. However, as the wind turbine was rotating, the usual stacking methods failed. The challenge now is to collect enough photons with a single exposure to be able to work out the Milky Way. I think the blurring of the windmill gives the image some dynamism against the still infinity of the starry background.
