The weather forecast for April 8, 2024 in Texas sounded like a stormy November day in Germany. I set off on I30 from Dallas towards north-east Arkansas in a correspondingly bad mood. At some point I got tired of the interstate, so I headed into the hinterland. In Cooper, on the lake of the same name, I took a break to have a coffee in the local bakery. A few amateur and professional photographers had already spread out there and the shop talk had begun. I thought I might as well stay there, if under clouds, then at least in company. But as we all know, hope always dies at the end, and on this day it didn't die at all. Just in time at 12:30, the gray curtain lifted and the sun came out. There was a party atmosphere on the market square in Cooper, an indescribable experience.
